The Latina A.R.M.Y., Inc. 

                         

The Latina A.R.M.Y., Inc. is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to empower young Latinas through a series of workshops.  In a national effort, accomplished Latinas give two hours of their time to talk to young girls at their local school or community center to teach them four life tools they can use to create the life they deserve.  

OUR mission

Our goal is to empower one million Latinas.  The mission of The Latina A.R.M.Y. is to create a movement that will plant the seeds of success in the minds of each Latina we speak to, while creating a national awareness that will generate resources and aid to all Latino communities.  Our message will help our girls understand that any obstacle can be overcome with hard work and determination.   

According to statistics, young Latinas hold the highest rates of attempted suicide (1 in 6 tries to end her life), teenage pregnancy (53% become pregnant or mothers at least once before the age of 20), staggeringly high rates of HIV infections, and the highest female high school drop out rate in the nation (42%), closely following Latino and African American boys who currently rank the highest.  This is a national crisis that requires our immediate, collective attention.   

Young Latinas need us.  They are the fastest growing demographic in the U.S.  By the year 2050 1 in 4 U.S. women will be of Hispanic descent.  We have an opportunity to empower this generation of young ladies.  Don't wait.  Get involved TODAY!
